The impact of the fire is not carried out to the core of the cross – section. The burning rate, defined by the law, is established through measurements, conducted by authorized institutions. In this way, it is possible to determine the measure of intact cross – section that can be engaged in the transfer of forces during a fire.
Load capacity of the construction during a fire is proved by calculations, according to the regulations. Wooden construction designed in a proper way does not require fire coatings and keeps its load capacity, stability and usability in fire conditions.
Wood constructions have small weight and do not require big contact surface which allows reduction in size of basic structure. Wooden structures made of glued laminated wood look impressive but not robust. Wooden beams do not require additional processing in order to be used in interior. Additional grinding and coating make construction meet both requirements – loading capacity and interior quality.
